Bauhaus 1919-1928



















"Bayer, Herbert; Gropius, Walter; Gropius, Ise. BAUHAUS 1919-1928. New York: The Museum of Modern Art, 1938. Cloth, 4to. 224 pages. Illustrated throughout with black & white photographs. Designed by Herbert Bayer. Published to accompany the groundbreaking exhibit at the Moma which which had a huge impact on America's embrace of Modern Design. This copy includes the very scarce dust jacket in red, black and white with black & white photographic design to front. Bound in yellow cloth with black and red lettering to front boards and spine. On front board the title appears as "Bauhaus Weimar. 1919-1925. Dessau 1925-1928." Top corners bumped. Binding is darkened slightly at spine head and tail and at corners. Edges are slightly darkened and soiled. Internally in very good condition with previous owner's pencil signature to front end paper. Jacket is darkened slightly and edgeworn with several tears and small amount of paper loss at spine head and tail and foldovers. Otherwise, this copy is clean and without marks and an attractive, Very Good Condition copy in an almost Very Good jacket. (#13043) $500.00"
